Maddox has been assailed by Houston Rockets fans in 2019 when he missed Golden State Warriors’ Kevin Durant obviously stepping out of bounds. Luckily for the Rockets James Harden hit a monster three to save the win for the Rockets . A host of NBA stars including the Philadelphia 76ers Joel Embiid laid into Maddox on twitter, laughing at how Maddox had missed such an obvious call. Even Houston Rockets owner Daryl Morey got in on the action mocking the crew with a Birdbox meme on Twitter. Maddox also has a history with Kevin Durant. Maddox ejected Durant from a game against the Milwaukee Bucks after Durant shouted “CALL THE F****G FOUL YOU B***H-ASS MOTHERF****R. Tre was also one of the referees calling for an end to the NBA’s last two minute report. Fans have also complained that there is no way that referees are nearly perfect by the NBA’s (which employs them) standards.

Tre Maddox has officiated 441 games in the NBA. Maddox spent six years at the collegiate level in the Pac-12, West Coast and PacWest conferences. Maddox started his career with eight years of officiating at the high school level.
