John Goble

John Goble drew the ire of the Boston Celtics’ Marcus Smart after a big loss to the Brooklyn Nets in overtime in March of 2020. Smart was upset about a foul call at the end of regulation that fouled him out and put the Brooklyn Nets’s Caris LeVert at the free throw line. Smart had to be restrained from physically going after Goble.

John Goble has officiated nearly 800 games, 78 of those Playoff games and 4 NBA Finals games. Goble started his career at the Collegiate level in the SEC and the Sunshine State Conference before graduating to the NBA G League and eventually the NBA.
